A Fourier Transform is basically a description of an image as a sum of
sinewaves of various spatial frequencies, magnitudes, orientations, and
phases.  Blurring an image basically means you've selectively decreased the
magnitudes of the high-frequency components.  A phase difference basically
refers to a change in position.
