Alaska 3D Video
Thanks to all who posted about this tape ... I'm going to watch
it again just to verify what I thought I saw - real depth from a
static viewpoint of a static subject. As I think about how to
make the pulfrich effect work in a static mode (see above) an
idea came to mind.
I've seen "image stabilizing" lenses from a company (Angenaux?)
that compensate for camera vibration - Perhaps they have
reversed this technique and are deliberately vibrating the lens,
in synch with frames, to achieve 3D video? That would explain
the back and forth motion I noted in slo-mo. Any discussion on
weather this would be feasible? Obviously I'll have to look
closer at the video (perhaps I'll visit a friend at the local TV
station and see what the video looks like on a scope) and report
back ...
In the meantime I'm off for a three day weekend - yippee!!! I'm
going to go play in the snow ... and shoot some more slides ...
C ya'll 2's day
