Ruben Torrejon wrote that the Nuoptix 3D frames per second rate is by no
means altered but rather a higher than normal shutter speed is recommended.
That makes sense as the higher shutter speed would freeze the action and
would be less blurry. This shutter speed of course is implemented
electronically as opposed to traditional mechanical shutters in film
cameras. Video cameras have a fixed frame rate but movie film cameras don't
have this limitation. So to freeze the action using a film movie camera
one way it is done is to use a very high frame rate. After this is done
if it is to be transferrred to a regular video tape, the action would be
captureed in slow motion. With no blurryness in the fast moving shots. If
regular speed motion on playback from the video tape is required then
a few of the alternating frames would be taken out to speed up the action
of the original hi-speed film to video without loosing the freeze action.
So in conclusion if the Nuoptix was taken using a film movie camera, a
fith more frames per second (fps) to obtain a better quality would make
sense. And if it was done using a video camera increasing the shutter speed
would be the recommended way.
