Glad to hear you got your 3Discover finally, since it comes at a opportune
time, as the Dr.T imposter was just commenting on it.

Great in depth explanation Sam. But I think the basic idea is already in the
public domain, since the idea was posted in P3D awhile back.
Yes, Wrebbit is very touchy on those matters regarding patents and the like.
Here is another simple hacker improvement that can be done. You mention
it has inter-ocular adjustment. Yes that is true but is limited to 2
positions on each side, for a combination of 4 different spacings. The 
spacing provided were not suitable for me and what I did was dremel
out one more notch inside the viewer so that it has 3 positions. This
works well for me and others. Another simple improvement which I have done
is to put a jack so that an DC adaptor can be used with it. As for the 
focussing that is good idea, but I don't see why it would need it since
they seem to be in focus IMO.
