Spoofing / Forgery

Just when you think you have seen it all! Yes, I am still monitoring this
group, as I try to pick up things about this type of photography.  As a
greenhorn, I don't know  the difference between brand A and B and I take
EACH and EVERY post both seriously and as informed opinion from which to
start my building of knowledge. Now, am I to treat postings on this group as
suspect? While the originator may have thought it was a gas, I don't. In
fact in the real world, this could have been treated as a libel since it
brought into question the qualifications of one who appears to be both
qualified and well respected in this field. I would suggest that those
thinking about doing such a thing refrain from it since it may cause hurt,
confusion or even destroy the credibility of the target or the group. Dr. T,
you were a gracious person in your reponse to this occurance, I am not so
sure I could have reacted in as gentlemanly way.
