Rainbows

I have taken rainbows in stereo, but not the meteorological ones --
they are too far away at normal base. Rather, I have taken the
rainbows one gets with waterfalls (Bridle Veil Falls at Yosemite),
and this fall I took some shots of a man steam-cleaning an old
railroad engine. The rainbows look, well, just as in real life. I
think that it's a graet shop. The judges haven't thought so yet.

A tip on rainbows: if you use a polarizing filter, you can optimize
the rainbow effect by rotating the polarizer to favor the refracted
rays from the water droplets. It makes a big difference, without
looking fake. This is difficult to do with a stereo camera, because
it is so awkward to get a rotatable polarizer, or a geared pair of
them.
