FED lucky buy

Consumer report:

A dubious Russian individual at a consumer mass had a FED Stereo "M". He
said it was the last out of seven, and offered a special price. I bought
it...
The next day was the most gloomy 1 lux november day since 200 years. I
shot a whole 100 ASA film, expecting light leaks, underexposure,
left/right disparity and general not-working-at-alliness.

The other day for the first time in my stereo-photographing life the
people I had photographed wanted to see *ALL* of my diapositives 8)

To all you people that use two cameras glued together like I always had
before: the most important value of a real stereo camera with a proper
eye distance is that you'll get people in reasonable 3D, not hyperstereo
dwarfs!

The exposure was ok on almost every picture, the only problem were my
slight 1/30s disabilities. The 1-3-1-3 mechanism worked perfectly. There
was but one drawback: the night shift at the film lab had cut the film
to fit in the bag. Without any respect to any pictures being present at
that location or not B( (the FED makes 24x30 mm pictures.)

*QUESTION* Does anyone have a proper solution to the problem that 30mm
pictures don't quite fit the 36mm diaframes? I mounted the slides
aligned to the center [ L][R ] which seems to ease viewing *TIP* for
people with disabilities, but prohibits any projection...

PS: The FED cost 170 German marks, that's, lets see...
$113 ? :o>
PPS: I will add some information on the FED to my webpage below.
