Telephoto attachment for Realist!

Last night I bought a pair of shades/filter holder for the Realist. The
seller was kind enough to throw in a telephoto attachment for the Realist.
Two telephoto attahcment lenses w/instructions in case and boxed that will
screw in the Series V filter attachment. He said that this will double the
focal length (35 to 70?) I'll have to read the instructions and try it but
if any one here has any experience with telephoto attachments for stereo
cameras, I would like to hear it.

He was also selling two sets of Steinheil attachments for less than $250
each. These were of course snapped before I got there. He brought a few
pictures to demonstrate how nicely the wide angle works. One was a family
sitting in the open. Nothing in the picture suggested that a wide angle
attachment was used or a need to be used. The other was a pair of "before
and after". Before was a lovely stereo, glass mounted and award-winner of
a bridge. After the wide angle lenses were inserted the picture became
just an average shot with no reason for existence. He claimed that he used
the lenses in a 3.5 Realist without any problem.

The point I'll like to make is that these wide angle attachments will only
work well in a situation that calls for them. I have heard reports of good
use in a crowded plane cockpit, etc. They are not recommended for work for
everyday photogarphy, IMO

The idea of a telephoto attachment sounds very interesting to me. But,
somehow, I fear that this will not work to my satisfaction.
