Patents and the such
Jon, in mucho reply, wrote...>>Funny though...Harry, you and I both collect
early transitor radios of the 50's...and I just took a stroll in to the
storeroom where I keep the original boxes for my transistors, and I am
looking at Philco, Motorola, Global, Widsor, Arvin, Westinhouse, GE,
Zentith....and none of them have any patent numbers on them.
Harry now replies: Actually, you won't see patent numbers on complete cars,
either. Would you really be worried that Chrysler would steal the 1995
design from Ford, to use on the 1997 Chysler Whats-it ??? I doubt that the
1959 Philco transistor would be copied on the 1961 Toshiba, and if they did,
Philco wouldn't have cared!
What you would see is patent numbers on the capacitor boxes, the resistor
boxes, etc. Plus, the carb, fuel filter, and other steal-able parts from
cars all have numbers on their boxes.
