Wray Stereographic

I bought a new "old" stereo camera yesterday at a flea market for 65 pounds
sterling . A Wray Stereographic which is the same as the American Graflex
but with Wray lenses and manafactured under licence in the UK by Wray of
London
There is just a B and single instantaneous shutter speed which I believe
is 1/50 can anyone confirm this ?. It fires my Nimslo optilite flash but
ahead of the shutter presumably because it was not intended for electronic
flash is there a way to get it to work with a modern flash ?. There is a
button on top which can be turned to a L and R position and pressed down at
R to allow rewinding of the film so presumably R is for release but what if
anything does L do ?. Any other information about this camera might be
usefull , I know that the original Graflex at least had differentialy fixed
focuss lenses but is the Wray version the same.
