This is a very interesting chronological summary... It is striking to me
that it took a good 50 years from peak to decline for the stereo views.  50
years is a very long time... as much or more than one person's mature
lifetime.  In sharp contrast, it took Realist-format photography only 5-10
years from peak to decline (and much less for 3d movies.)  Why is this so?
