Yes, you certainly will. Coincidently I was planning to post a message on
how to take 3D similiar to what you mention in your query. Here goes!

Of course in your above question, you would get a resulting 3D pic.
Another way of doing this without a camera is if you have a digitizing
board that can grab video frames and capture those onto a computer and
manipulate them side by side or converted into anaglyph pics. But what
if you don't have a frame grabber? There is another way to convert those
elusive 3D panning scenes. You don't need a camera or even a frame grabber.
The one gotcha in this alternative method is that it works by using movie
computer files such as MPEG, AVI, MOV or whatever, and not strictly from
broadcast television. What I enjoy doing is downloading the multitude of
movie files available on the net and and opening two windows of the same
file and positioning them side by side. After doing this I go thru the
clip frame by frame and look for tattle tale signs of panning and position
the other window one frame ahead or before. The result is 3D and depending
if the panning was done strictly left to right without any rotation, the
effect is sometimes excellent. You can then capture these pairs into your
favorite graphics program. I have converted quite a few 3D pics like this
and am working on one at the moment but can't give any details yet.
Hope this helps and happy dddownloading!
