As I mentioned to Dr. T in a private message, I measured the gate
temperature of my TDC Stereo Vivid Deluxe equipped with 750W bulbs. 
With a slide in the gate, and the lamps and fan ON I got a reading of
about 105 degrees F after 10 minutes.  After turning the lamps OFF, but
leaving the fan ON, I got a reading of 72 degrees F (ambient) after
about 30 minutes.  I encourage others to take similar measurements and
report them so we can compile data on other projectors. Thanks, John.
