Re: Black/White mounts

Hi friends,
As we say in England "I've got to get my happenyworth in on this
discussion!".

The reason for the black side of the slide facing forward is to minimise
the projection lens picking up internal reflection of the front of the
mount. The reason, in spite of what was said, for the white side is to
face the lamp and 'throw back' heat wherever possible.

The older Kodak Carousel 35mm slide projectors were well known for their
intensive heat at the gate and you had to do soimething to try and
reduce this. Fortunately most modern projectors (like the Kindermann
range, for example, run very cool at the gate so it is less of a
problem).

We - The Widescreen Centre - stock the widest range of slide mounts
int he U.K.....the complete GePe range, Bonum range and MetalMask
range, plus masking tape. Virtually all the mounts have one dark side
and one light side!
