===============

All that physics stuff is absolutely true. I only noted an empirical
observation. I can only explain it by the presence of effective heat-
absorbing glass between the 750W furnaces and my precious slides.

I mount 'em black side to lamp, because I do most viewing in a
Themelizer (did I get it right this time, George?) and I prefer
the appearance of the black background. Whatever the reason, black
slides just don't get very hot in my TDC -- however bad the design
(IMHO, the RBT design is GREAT).

Re the Nord projector -- seems like I should be related somehow,
but if so, I don't know about it. The whole Nored family derives
from some Swedish immigrants in the 18th century. Exactly why so
many of 'em settled in Central Texas, with its incredibly hot
summers (Santa Anna is reputed to have called off the war against
the Texians once because it was just too hot!) I can't imagine, but
here we are.

If you'd like info/opinion on the Nord, one of our local club members
has one. I could ask him his opinion, or maybe the club could have
a projector comparison evening. Hmmm...

Regards

Gary Nored
