Larry, I've heard from reliable medical sources that there was exactly
ONE study that found abnormally high levels of aluminum in the brains of
the Alzheimer's patients it studied. From this single study, an alarm
cry of causality was raised. Any student of statistics knows that
correlation doesn't necessarily imply causality; the high aluminum levels
could just as easily be a CONSEQUENCE of the disease as a cause, or have
no connection whatsoever.
Subsequent studies were unable to duplicate these results, suggesting
that the correlation was spurious. Like many pop cultural bugaboos this
one continues to live on.
And this is way, way off-topic.
