3D Movie/Video division of the Stereo Club of Southern California
Closing date for entries...............February 28, 1997

JUDGES
STEPHEN HINES, a former Eastman Kodak researcher, Mr. Hines has
developed 3D movie cameras for Disney Studios. Since founding
HinesLab in 1984, he has designed and developed specialized 3D
equipment such as the StereoCam and autostereo (3D without glasses)
video displays.
BILL WARREN is the author of "Keep Watching the Skies", which has
been called "the most authoritative work on the fantasy cinema." Mr.
Warren is a contributing editor of "Leonard Maltin's Movie and Video
Guide". He has written and contributed to numerous science fiction
magazines and books. He was the Hollywood correspondent for the
French television series "Fantasy" and is the "sysop" on GEnie, the
commercial computer service. Genie "Livewire" Magazine is were
Bill Warren's MovieBase can be found, currently with over five hundred
reviews. His most recent book, "Set Visits: Interviews with 32 Horror
and Science Fiction Filmmakers", will be published soon.
DAVID STARKMAN has been involved in stereo photography for more
than two decades. Mr. Starkman has played a very active roll in the
Stereo Club of Southern California. He is a regular contributor to
"Stereo World" through his NewViews column. He, along with Susan
Pinsky, founded Reel 3-D Enterprises nineteen years ago. Reel 3-D
is the largest mail order selection of new 3D supplies. Reel 3-D has
published numerous helpful guides for stereo photographers,
including 18 catalogs, 3 bound editions of "Reel 3-D News" and "Reel
3-D Enterprises' Guide to the Nimslo 3D Camera".
JUDGING/SHOWING
Entries will be judged in the Media Center at Longley Way School
on Saturday, March 8, 1997, commencing at 1:00 P.M. A public
showing will take place in the Media Center on Sunday, March 9,
1997, commencing at 1:00 P.M.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
ELIGIBILITY: Films must be produced by the entrant.
FORMATS: We are equipped to project 16mm Bolex/Elgeet, Super 8
Elmo/Powell, Pulfrich, anaglyphs or VHS alternate-field
video. Please write or call about other formats.
JUDGING CRITERIA: Submissions will be judged on image quality
within the limitations of the format, titles, creativity,
3D effect, editing and story.
LIABILITY: All possible care will be exercised in the handling of
entries, but no responsibility is assumed for lose or
damage of entries during judging or in transit. It is
recommended that entries be insured during shipping.
Submission of entries will imply acceptance of all
conditions.
PRIZES are being donated by Reel 3-D Enterprises, Michael Starks'
3DTV Corporation, Ray Zone and Lawrence Kaufman.
