I love my APS cameras!

What you people are missing is that the APS format is a necessary stepping
stone to the all-digital cameras.  In order to get the yield up and the
price down on 2048 x 3064 CCD image sensors, it is necessary to downsize the
silicon chip.   This requires that a smaller format for which there are yet
no cameras or lenses to borrow.  I consider this resolution the minimum to
give up the film process. Enter APS.  By the time the high res sensors are
available, there will be many APS format lenses also.

I have an ELPH and a Kodak 3200.  I was very pleased with the 3200 I got
last May in terms of sharpness, lack of grain, and not one wasted shot in 12
rolls.  It is completely idiot proof.  Then in October I got the Cannon ELPH.

The ELPH is even better with it's 2:1 zoom and it's small size (a thick
credit card).  Ordering reprints is foolproof thanks to the date and time,
cartrige ID, and exposure # printed on the back of each print.

I would like to have RBT make me an ELPH pair!

The really annoying thing about APS is that is has obsolesence written
all over it.  Consumer grade digital cameras at consumer level prices
will be available in the next year, and the quality will steadily
improve as the price drops, as with other digital technologies.  APS
meets no need whatsoever, and will quickly be supplanted by
all-digital cameras, etc.
