Problem? w/Themelized Red Button

I've been shooting with a realist for a year and a half with
uniformly acceptable results (by my low standards). I've always
wondered about the discussion about how hard 3D photography and
slide mounting are. I've always slipped chips in mounts, popped
'em in the Red Button and enjoyed the view.

Well, now I must say that I've been wrong all along. Serious
defects in mounting, and more importantly composition, have been
hidden by Dr. T's fine instrument.

Now that I have a projector, some of the shots I thought were
great are nearly un-fuseable. I'm regularly getting too much
depth. I love shooting in the woods and try to get maximum depth
of field - but when projected these slides' subjects and
backgrounds can't be fused at the same time - something I seldom
noticed in the Red Button. I guess that's a backward complement
to the Themelized Red Button: "makes even bad slides look good"
;-)

Some advice from the projection experts? What do I look for in a
slide for projection? When mounting, what should I look for in
the viewer as a clue to how it will perform when projected?
