I tape the slave unit to my flash gun.  There are several connection
options available with the units, I use the hot shoe adaptor in preference
to the PC cable.  The hot shoe adaptor is less vulnerable to bad
connections due to water and dirt.  How do you support them?  I put them
on the ground, rock, ledge, get someone to hold it etc etc etc.  How much
stuff do you want to carry into a cave anyway?  I find that the human
slave units work the best! :-)
