Auction results

A few weeks ago I posted details of some interesting
equipment for sale in an auction at Christie's London.
The sale took place today (18th) and some of the prices
follow. Remember , these are in pounds
sterling , and today , thanks to our sound economy one
pound equals US$1.62.
A number of the items were unsold meaning they did not
reach the reserve, which is usually the lower figure of the
estimate range , so I give the estimate when the item is
unsold.
Verascope f3.5 40mm in box (unsold) est.850-950
Speich (Italy) f2.8 20mm (unsold) est 2-3000
Stereo Realist F3.5 (unsold) est 5-600
Macro Realist prototype sold for 1150
Dummy TDC stereo (wood) (unsold) est 2-300
Realist Macro sold for 1610
Realist outfit (camera, case, flash, 2 viewers etc) sold for 322
ISO Duplex Super stereof3.5 35mm sold for 276
Ikolux 500stereo projector by Zeiss (unsold) est 1800-2000
Ikolux 500 projector (split single lens stereo projector)
by Zeiss sold for 403

Also one item I missed when I originally read the catalogue:

Panorascope panoramic stereo camera by Simda France.

This is a fascinating camera. I have only ever seen one before at
the Museum of Science and Technology in Berlin , where they
have a huge excellent stereo collection , and a stereo projection room.
The camera was made circa 1957 , and uses 16mm film. It produces
panoramic stereo pairs 11x20mm in size. Four pairs are mounted
on a single card for viewing. The only commercial application of
this system I know of was the Hanimex Vista Viewer , a small plastic
viewer and commercial tourist views, from Australia.
Dalia has a some of these for sale in her latest catalogue,
where they are also illustrated.
This camera sold for 805

Happy Christmas,
John Bradley.
