The best part, which I forgot to mention, is that we don't pay a thing for
having the meetings at OMSI. Usually if the museum has no interest in what
a group is doing, they would charge a lot of money. Not only that we don't
pay, but we have janitorial service before the meetings to set up the
chairs and tables and after the meetings to clean up our mess, (but we do
clean anyway...) and we have also a safe storage place for our stuff, which
makes life really easy. I think the way to approach a potential
institution, is to offer them something that both parties believe is
valuable. What we offered is to organize an annual event/activity that has
the potential to bring more paying visitors during that period and the
benefit for the club of course is to have a greater exposure in the
community (no puns please!)
