Slide Spotting....

......Happy new year, all.

I am confused about the 'Standard' for spotting (colour coding left
and right, with a spot which also shows the correct orientation of
the slide for viewing or projection) 2 x 2 x 2 slides.

My feeling is that the spot should go in the lower left corner as
you view the slide (as on a realist format slide). The spot is
then visible to the projectionist if he slide is projected. Colour
can code left and right, but even for folks with good colour vision,
the view of the slide itself in a projection theater might cause
problems. Do you projectionists prefer spot on the left of the
left slide, and spot on the right of the right side?. .

I am confused about the colour coding because both a 'red for right'
and 'red for left' Standard have been mentioned in the Stereo Soc
Bulletin/Journal. They are directly conflicting. The author of the
more recent version acknowledges the problem (apparently due to the
conventions for anaglyph glasses/images) but is so diplomatic to the
previous writers that I remained confused.

Slide spotting and titleing (?sp) are not mentioned in the version of the
Slide.Mounting.ps.File which I have.

Is there a real standard?
Can someone lay it out clearly? (Thanks Bob!)

Is is right?

Thanks for any comments/advice

Jeremy.
