Polarizer location

Hi all,
Just catching up on my holiday backlog. So I'll merge two threads.
If you use Kodachrome and project it, then having the polarizer before
the slide (ie between bulb and slide) will increase your (short) time
before fading by reducing the amount of light hitting the slide.
With 40% transmission polarizers, you would be able to project for
2.5 times as long for equivalent fading. This is true for all slides
presumably but most E6 slides won't get projected enough to noticably
fade no matter where the polarizer is.
Many Kodachrome users are using it for its (dark storage) archival
properties so wouldn't project it ever, but if you do . . .
