There's even a standard here in Germany (DIN 4531, is there anything
NOT standardized in this country??), but since it's also quite logi-
cal and compatible with what people do ...
for real stereo slides (2 images in one frame): one (red) dot in the
lower left corner.
for 2 x (2" x 2") or 2 x (50mm x 50mm): one red spot in the lower left
corner of the left image and one green spot in the lower left corner
of the right image (easy to remember: like your anaglyph glasses:
left=red, right=green; or if you're a captain: left=starboard=red,
right=port=green)
for one stereo pair in one 2" x 2" (50mm x 50mm) frame taken with a
beamsplitter on one lens: one dot in the lower left corner (left image
is on tle left)
for one stereo pair in one 2" x 2" (50mm x 50mm) frame taken with a
"beamsplitter" which only enlarges the stereo-base of a camera-attach-
ment with two lenses: two dots in the lower left corner (left image is
on the right).

Usually, the color doesn't matter, it's only important when you're
using two 2x2's (50x50). I usually use a red dot (with a felt-tip pen).

Hope this helps. If you need this in more detail for the FAQ, please
contact me off-list after February 17th.
