Ok (I would prefer to answer this one off the list but there seems to
be enough people asking),
Netscape does what is called a MIME attachment. When using netscape if
you right click the picture it will give you the option to save the
picture. Using any other mailer it will probably just give you the
option to save the attachment (pine).
Condensed techy-speak: MIME is a standard (rfc) for transmitting
data over the Internet through mail. Normally mail only allows
7-bit data The MIME standard represents 8-bit data in 7-bit
characters using multiple char fragments for each 8-bit character.
Some data space is also used to tell start/stop and other codes. This
is useful for anything that is not text and there is known codes for
images, sound, tar files, big things etc. Write me in E-mail
