Just for general info, another mnemonic to remember port-starboard 
correlation with red-green goes like this...

        Red left port

And, since I used to know a guy who's nickname was Red who worked as a 
cook at a bayside resturant, I always have this image of him leaving the 
port and sailing off into the sunset.
