Rubber Washers with my Realist

In the camera bag, with my Realist, there were two rubber gaskets
that have the same outer diameter as the inner diameter of the insides
of the lens hood/cap.  Is this a coincedence? or were they part of the 
original packing?  One of them is good the other one is shot.

Now I'll be searching the archives for oppinions on how to load my Realist:)
