Nimslo flash on a Realist?

I tried to fit my Nimslo Flash on the Realist but realized that
I 'll have to neatly damage (modify) something.  How is it done?

PS. I guess I was wrong, I saw some snow plows in Seattle.
I ended up with 2 feet.  It's the worst in 50 years (before my time).
