So many questions and so little time. OK here goes. Yes ALL. From
the first No.1 collectors issue to the present one. I got them
from the bobcat computer archives a while back. I am surprised
they are not there now though. I had downloaded them all at once
using FreeLoader an automated download web page program. Yes I
know it's priceless information, that's why I donwloaded just in
case it disappeared one day as it seems it did. (or not?) Bob Wier
or John B. could probably let us in on what happened to the
dissappearing digests.
As for price, ahhh will have to think about this long and hard.
Contact me offlist and we'll talk money. ;-) They are available on
regular 1.44Mb floppies or Zip disks. Or can be emailed for less cost.
These are limited edition 100 copy run. After that the originals will
be erased. SO ACT NOW and reserve your copies. :-)
Here is a free sample of the first issue that I know of. I think there
are others predating this one.

To: photo-3d Subject:Welcome! Welcome to the new Photo-3D mailing list.
This list has been established for the purposes of discussing 3D photography
and closely allied subjects. In this list, 3D is defined as the presentation
of separate and different single images for the left and right eyes. This
definition is not intended to exclude lenticular presentations or the
Pulfrich effect or any other traditional technique. It _is_ intended to
exclude discussions of, for instance, perspective drawings and ray tracings
(often called 3D by people in other fields) and is also intended to limit
the discussion of holography to headlines only, inasmuch as holography is
a radically different technique (and after all should by rights have its
own newsgroup or mailing list). Unfortunately, this is not the place to post
3D computer images. More about that in a subsequent post.
Discussions of the following (in no particular order) are encouraged.
Topics: 3D art 3D equipment and products, both commercial and home-brew 3D
techniques 3D personal experiences 3D theory
Media: 3D photographic stills and movies 3D television 3D computer graphics
I'm not sure if I should mention this or not because I've never seen the
problem in a 3D group, but this list is a genteel list. Please take your
flames elsewhere. The present form of communication is limited and hence
frustrating; please use your frustration to redouble your efforts at good
communication. You have a choice of how you receive the proceedings of this
list. You may elect to have posts delivered to you as we receive them or you
may elect to receive a "daily digest" which is a compendium of the day's
posts. If traffic is excessive on any given day, the list program will send
out more than one daily digest on that day. Here's how to join (clip and save):

Subject: The future lies ahead Bearing in mind that the road to hell is
paved with good intentions, I present the following as future goals. At the
present time, this site has insufficient capacity to store images. I would
like to work with one or more ftp sites which store 3D computer images. I
would like the titles and a short description of each new image to be
announced in this mailing list. I would also like to periodically post a
catalog of what's at those sites. I said in the proposal that posts to this
list will be cross-posted to alt.3d. This capability is being implemented
but is not on line just yet. My present thought is that we should post all
individual messages to alt.3d as they come in, and post a daily digest to
rec.photo. The former because that's where we properly belong and the
latter because I would like to see us maintain a presence there and gather
in more members. In the long term, I would like to see us get a "legitimate"
newsgroup of our own called rec.photo.stereo. Many sites do not carry alt
so I don't think an alt group is a good goal. Since there are many sites that
don't carry news at all, there are certainly no plans to cancel this group if
and when we get a legit newsgroup. For those of you who don't know me well:
I'm open to discussion. 8-)
