Options I've heard of are
(1) Get an adaptor from Reel-3d & mount flash off-camera (requires flash
with PC connection).
(2) File a groove in the bottom of a standard flash unit (& maybe take a
little off the sides of the base) so it'll fit in the Realist hot shoe.
Disadvantage is that it might not fit snugly on a modern hot shoe, but who
uses regular cameras anymore?
(3) File the bump off of the Realist hot shoe. Requires removing camera
top plate? George?
(4) I remember there was one fellow a few months back who described raising
the hot shoe using longer screws & washers underneath so that it sat above
the bump. I can't remember who it was or his final opinion of the
procedure...
