|Please don't everyone scream at me at once...but I took a pen knife and cut
|a trough in the black plastic on my Sunpak flash's bottom that leads to the
|contact. That allows me to force the flash onto the Realist shoe with its
|big bump. Once it's on, it stays on. Takes a little force to get it back
|off. Works for me. I can hear the screaming now. Dick Wood

(just kidding). Actually, I did a similar thing with my previous flash.
Generally the thought is that you don't want to modify the Realist,
(at least in a way that can't be put back) but
it's ok to modify "modern" equipment (of course... if you keep it long
enough, then it becomes a collectable too :-)
