Vertical Orientation Discussion

I do. I probably mentioned it a few years back on the list. I have
two Rollei 35s mounted on a folding mount. It is based on a strap hinge and
a flick of the wrist sends it from horizontal to vertical in an instant. I
even have a couple of magnets to keep it from loosing lock when collapsed.
I use this setup for all my higher-quality shots and it is easy as well to
do hyper-stereo by using each camera sequentially. The two drawbacks for
action photography are that the mechanical sync (twin-cable release) is not
always exact. It is good enough for most things, but no for juggling clubs
spinning in the air. The second problem with the Rolleis is that the flash
shoes are on the bottom of the cameras and unavailable without a lot of
extra effort to design a special attachment and mount.

If anyone is interested in the structure of the folding two-camera
mount, drop me a line.
