Re: Balkanization of photo-3d
I appreciate seeing the variety of material on the list. I've
learned something from almost every subject. However, after
learning about the existence of a topic and learning something about
the basics and nature of the threads, I sometimes decide that that's
enough, and I skip over other postings on the same topic. For
example, in recent weeks there have been postings on, among other
things:
1 IMAX processes and problems and distinctions
2 vignetting problems of various lenses
3 flash units and their modification for realists
4 projection bulbs and the cooling problems
5 5p versus 7p and how I did it good
6 do we need a sell-3d or not
7 annual meetings, where, when and how
8 judging of competitions
9 does anyone know something they can share about xxx equipment
10 what about xxx service performed by yyy? where and how good?
11 Seymour Depth (or some other name) said this about this, then
12 how to get the best display of 3d on a computer monitor
13 how to make anaglyphs for a computer display
14 please visit my URL (or glitzo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx) to see neato stuff
15 ain't this list neat?
16 Sure, newbie, here's how it's done and thanks for asking
17 how do I get the best [focus|dof|exposure|color|sharpness|etc.]
18 ...
Man - I'm amazed that I could come up with 17 without pausing. You
all could certainly add more. I'll quit because the point is made.
There are five of these 17 that I would gladly never read about
again, but I'm glad I was introduced to them here. To say that I
wish those five didn't ever appear here again would possibly be true,
but my five will certainly not be your five. For right now I'd
rather slog through the chaff (to me) to get at the kernels, even
though it means more and more time spent catching up each night and
weekend. I can't imagine how those of you on direct posting rather
than digest mode can stand the incoming rate! My vote is to keep it
all together for now.
