I think that it might be taken into consideration that the current high
bandwidth of photo-3D (which, btw, I kind of like!) isn't historically
typical.
I've noticed over time that there are busy times (like now) but there also
are times where things are close to dead silent. Even Dr. T. will
disappear for periods (when on trips?).
When the next silent-period comes, will we start a discussion to rejoin
the split lists? Or will *that* discussion negate the need to do so? :-)

I do both as well as other things, however, I don't think the demographics
of those who read Stereo World and photo-3D are likely to be the same
whereas the primary content of the two are usually very different, IMHO.

POST IT!!!!!!!!!!!
It *might* be a common thread if you post it. Personally, I'd like as
wide a breadth of subject (all 3D of course) as possible. I like to
know everything about everything, even those things I'm not currently
active in because the only reason I may not be active in something
may be because I don't know enough about it yet!

This might be an advantage to the ACK method rather than digest method
for those who don't have a mail system that breaks up a digest to look
like they were separate postings). Makes it easy not to read the ones
you don't want to by only reading the subject line. Not that I ever
skip any myself. :-)
I personally don't favor a breakup unless the bandwidth is
truly too high on a sustained basis. I don't like the "us" vs "them"
aspects, *especially* in regard to having a "beginner" list.
Having a cron job periodically post a pointer to the FAQ might be good
for beginners.
