*** If you are viewing stereo paired images it is usual to see the two flat
versions off to the side. If you are viewing a stereogram this is less true
because a stereogram is built with this repetition element. If the
stereogram is wide enough your area of concentration can be within the image
and you won't notice the edges unless you are close to them. Again there
will be a *flat* image to each side. With stereo pairs, I've learned to
ignore the side effects and enjoy the full scene in the center.
