NSA convention?

I am a retired TV broadcast engineer.  I now want to get back into my
old 3d hobby after an absence of 40 years.  I would appreciate any
comments on the NSA convention coming up.  Would this be a good place to
get a massive dose of 'catching up' or is this one of the typical hyped
trade shows that are so prevelent these days?  It sounds good but is it?

Any comments appreciated from people who have attended past shows.

NSA:  No criticism intended.  I am  asking because the cost is not
insignificant.
