Dominant eye vs. lazy eye

I think virtually everyone has a dominant eye.  Could Joerg be describing
something akin to what in this country is called "lazy eye," perhaps a
mild case of it?  (I'm not real familiar with lazy eye, just recall kids
at school who had to wear the peculiar looking corrective glasses.)
