Realist film-loading question

Though the Realist film-loading question was hashed out last autumn, I want
to pose an idea to Realist-equipped colleagues:
To attach a length of scrap film to the fresh film, so that no usable film is
wasted for a leader.

Procedure:
Overlap the new film and the scrap with the scrap toward the camera back,
carefully aligning the perforations.  Attach a very small piece of tape to
the leading edge of the new film and fasten it to the scrap such that when
rewound, the scrap will not be pulled into the magazine.

I would rather hear your responses before proceeding.
