I'd like to add my congratulations to John for the remarkable service he has 
given this list, and my appreciation for the wealth of knowledge he has 
shared with us and the personal enlightenment he always seems to catylized. 

John's gifts extend not just into the realm of scientific knowledge and 
insight, but into the more rarified areas of human understanding, decency, 
and respect. I am most grateful for the gentle and patient wisdom he has 
excercised in the seamless way he has handled all of us 3D "personalities" 
through the years...
