I thought I'd pass along the following note. However two things...

This fellow is not a member of any of the mailing lists.

At this site, this newsgroup is not present (in fact, there are
NO alt.binaries..... at all). That's the problem with alt newsgroups -
if anyone upstream decides not to carry them, you can't get access, and
since they are not created via the usual procedure, there is less
incentive to do so.

If anyone spots it, kindly drop me a note.

THANKS!

| There is now a USENET group for Stereo pictures! It is called:
| alt.binaries.pictures.stereo
| For those unfamiliar with USENET, these binary file groups are mainly
| designed for messages with binary attachments, in this case picture
| files, as well as ordinary messages. Various Web browsers like
| Netscape, and newsreaders like Free Agent, have the ability to attach
| files to messages using various methods, usually through UUencoding.
| With many newsreaders and browsers the enocding/decoding is
| automatic. With others utilites such as UUD can be used.
|
| Since this is a fairly new group (it started on Jan 17,1997) it may
| not appear yet on your server. If this is the case, you might ask
| your server's admnistrator about picking it up. I started it up with
| a couple of dozen pictures and some stereo related messages and am
| hoping others will stop by and contribute.
|
| All stereo formats are welcome including color and BW scans,
| Anaglyphic (red/blue) pictures, drawings and stereoscopic computer
| graphics. Discussions of such are also welcome. The one thing not
| welcome are those rendered computer graphics that are often passed
| off as "3d" even though there is nothing 3d about them.
|
| So if you have some stereo pictures to contribute, even if they are
| only casual pictures of friends and family, please feel free to
| contribute.
