I would not consider my self a bigtime collector of stereo slides (do in
part to a lack of funds), but when I can get them cheap enough or free, I
will definately grasp the opertunity. I get a lot of enjoyment out of
seeing the clothes people were waring, and a lot of the little details, that
would be passed over perhaps in a non stereo picture. There have been tests
that show that most people spend on average looking at a stereo image 10
times longer than a flattie(YUCK!). Keep in mind that 10 times longer may
still be less than a minute in most cases, but it still means that you are
taking in more information from the picture. Just yesterday I was looking
at a stereo picture that was just a snap shot of some people dancing in a
log cabin (I think those were popular vacation spots), and a woman had a
beer in her hand. The beer did not have todays style of "pop top" to open
it, nor did it have the "pull tab", it was actually opened with a V shaped
can opener on the top in 2 places. I do not remember ever drinking any
thing out of a can like that, so I find that interesting. I wouldn't have
payed a dollar for it, but it came as part of a bunch of slides that I payed
about $0.40 a slide for. So I get some enjoyment, and I show it to friends
of mine, and they think it is interesting as well.

That is the basic reason for me aquiring slides of the past. It is a
fascination of things that are different from now, and of course seeing them
in 3-d (as you all know) makes you feel almost as if you are there, and
nothing but a time mechine could do any better.

So please send me all of your slides that are at least 2 years old, thank
you. ;)
