Yes - especially Realist format Kodachrome I with a good viewer provides
and immediacy and presence (at least for me) lacking any other way.
Since my mother was big into Realist, I have a bunch of family type
slides (and vacation subjects) from the early 50's thru mid 60's which
mean quite a lot to me since one of my sisters and both parents have
passed on.
