talking viewmaster response

On 20 Jan Les Conrad asked about talking viewmaster  (Digest 1843).

I have seen several of these but most are with reels only.  The original
reels should have come with a small "diskette" which has the sound track for
the reel.  Of the ones I have run across very few still had the sound disk
with them.  I believe the sound you are getting is from the viewmaster itself
which is basically telling you "Hey I'm working fine."  The diskettes are
about the size of a dime and easily fall out of the envelopes.  That's my
guess.  Sorry I don't have more, particularly where you can find them.  That
item still seems to pretty inexpensive and still popular at many flea
markets.  Just make sure you check for the disk before you buy.  Even without
the disks, the pictures still are fine, as you already know.
