I don't know what the specs are, but I've done some web-research of flatbed
scanners lately (got a Microtek ScanMaker IIhr at a *really* good price
at www.onsale.com, shipped directly from Microtek). The flatbed scanners
of Artec had reviews that, uh , didn't praise the quality of results. Actually,
toward last place. Of course that was for other models, and the Scan-ROM
might be a lot better.
This weekend I plan to try and see how well curved Keystone view cards scan.
Would squishing them flat for a while cause any damage to the (now) old paper
surface image?
Mike
P.S. - Anybody have a transparency adapter for the IIhr they want to get rid
of (I've the info from Microtek on how to tell if a TMA-II unit is
IIhr compatible, in case any of you also got one and is looking for
the compatible TMA. Let me know and I'll forward the info)?
