The viewer is a simple program to display a left and right pair.
It reads BMP format files. If you have images in another format
there are many free image file conversion program available.
I did notice the flicker when viewing images, but not while
playing games. The glasses use the parallel port and the flicker
is a function of the vertical refresh rate, which is mostly
dependent on your video adapter and monitor specs. I don't know if
there is a way to tweak the program to change the video mode.
One good thing about it is that you can set up script files
to give an automated slide show on the screen.
I suppose that the discounted price is an indication that they
are not selling well. :-( . As another perspective on the value,
most games of the quality of Descent II sell for $49 without
3-D LC glasses!
Can't give a review of Slipstream 5000, I haven't had time to
play it.
