Buy one of those ground glasses that Grant is selling.  Put your Realist
one a tripod, set at f3.5 and T.  Open the shutter.  Put the ground glass
on the film plane and use a magnifier glass to inspect the image.  Focus at
different distances and record what is happening.  Inspect both lenses.

You can do this test using film instead of the ground glass.

What might be happening is that the camera's focusing needs to be adjusted.
Many Realist repairmen can do that.
