At 18.6 Mbytes for each image, nope.  For my applications, I discard the color
and work with only 6.8 Mbyte Black & White files.  My Research Associate & I
got ZIP Drives just so that we could exchange data files.  The fancy Digital
Cameras are nice, but the data handling problems are severe.  For photogrammetry
applications, I can reduce the pixel depth (dropping color), but I cannot
modify the number of pixels (compression).  For a typical two-hour session in
a shipyard, I usually wind up burning one to three 640 Mbyte CD's just to get a
permanent record of the data ...
