Rear-Projection Screen

Since I never saw this appear on Photo-3D, I'm sending it again:

I have a Project-or-View that's in need of a new rear projection 
screen. The old one appears to have a coating of slightly transparent 
gray paint or plastic material, but the coating has cracked badly and 
needs redoing. Anyone know of a spray-on material for creating your 
own rear projection screens?

Or, would ground glass work as well? Next question, is there an easy, 
non high tech way to make 
your own ground glass?
