SAY YES TO "ORTHO"!

As Dr.T the linguist has covered hyper and pseudo very well, I thought
I would expound on ortho. As most know, in 3D terms it means reproducing
an 3D image that is true to life or as it would look when one views
reality. Now one can question what is reality but that is another subject
or dimension. ;-) Getting back to ortho, it's greek roots (according to
my trusty dictionary) means straight, right, true. In greek it would be
pronounced orthios and means to stand up straight.
As for hypo, this is the opposite of hyper. The dictionary defines it as
under, beneath, down, less than normal. Relating this to 3d of course it
defines the less than normal stereo base used mainly in macro 3d
photography and sometimes in regular 3d. Not sure how it's used in modern
greek though. Maybe the greek linguists on P3D can elaborate.
Hyper 3d is for hyper-actives and
hypo 3d is for hypocondriacs.
Gabriel not a linguist.
Oh yea, LONG LIVE P3D now that it is back on it's feet.
P.S. As this was going down the wire, Dr.T mentioned orthos. Oh well,
shoud I scrap the above? Not.
